ASPIS
Control of Work framework and consulting

Signed off is not the same as verified.

Aspis helps industrial teams close the gap between what a permit says and what actually happens at the work site.

Isolation verified PLAN PERMIT ISOLATE CHECK
Every barrier has gaps. Verification at the work site is the layer that is not allowed to have one.

Compliant on paper. Caught off guard in the field.

The procedures exist. The permits get signed. The same preventable failures still happen, because nobody confirmed the control was in place when the work started.

The Permit Is Complete

Every box is ticked and every signature is on the page.

The Isolation Is Assumed

The lock is on the tag board, but no one tested the energy is gone.

The Change Is Invisible

The scope moved mid-shift and the hazard review stayed behind.

One framework for the full life of high-risk work

The Aspis Control of Work Standard is a complete written framework. It sets requirements for each stage of the work and says who must verify what, and when.

Permit to Work

Issue, authorize, hand over and close permits with a clear owner at every step.

Hazard Identification

Find what can go wrong before the crew mobilizes, and record what controls it.

Energy Isolation

Lock, tag, prove and release, with the proof witnessed instead of assumed.

Barrier Management

Name the preventive, detecting and mitigative barriers, and check that each one works.

Management of Change

Catch changes to scope, people, equipment and conditions before they reach the work site.

Excavation

Call 811 or the local one-call service, confirm marked utilities, then dig.

Operational Learning

Turn near misses and field findings into changes in how work is controlled.

Operational confidence is earned through verification, not assumed from procedure.
The Aspis principle

Start small. Go as deep as you need.

Most clients begin with a free diagnostic and decide from there. Each step stands on its own.

No cost

Diagnostic Review

A short conversation and a look at one permit. You get a plain list of where verification is thin.

Per facility

Control of Work Audit

A site audit of permits, isolations and change control, with a written report and ranked actions.

Hands-on

Implementation Support

Help rolling the framework into your procedures, forms, training and daily routines.

Monthly

Ongoing Advisory

Focused advice on this one discipline, on call for your coordinators and supervisors.

Built by someone who ran the permit office

Aspis was founded by a former Permit to Work Coordinator. Years of issuing, auditing and closing permits showed the same pattern: the paperwork was fine, and the field was where controls quietly slipped.

The framework is written for people who do this work every day, in plain language, with requirements you can check.

Why the name

The aspis was the round shield of the Greek hoplite. Each soldier's shield protected the man to his left, so the line held only if everyone held. Control of Work works the same way.

Aspis works across industries. Oil and gas, chemical, power, construction and manufacturing all share the same failure points.
